The Typewriter Girl

See the busy typist girl
As she pounds the keys,
Printing other people's thoughts
With apparent ease.
Sometimes printing other things
Because of lack of care,
And thus producing in her boss
A strong impulse to swear.
See her with her guileless face,
Making her excuse:
“I had it in my notes, you see,”
The boss—“Oh, what's the use?”
